At first glance you might mistake the Vionnet fall RTW collection as colloquial in its simplicity but these pieces are anything but. While there was very little layering, each individual outfit had so many special touches you needed more time to really relish each piece. Contrasting colors and/or fabrics added dimension and depth, the best execution being the black and white checked dress with purple mink detail and silver fox sleeves.  A powder blue off-the-shoulder pantsuit with a coral cape trailing behind was soft and dramatic. A satin lapel v-neck gown overlaid on a salmon colored skirt with accordion pleats running horizontal and vertical gave movement and grace. The superb draping and tailoring made her eveningwear extraordinary.  Sometimes less is more.

Chloé’s Fall RTW 2016 runway was a Leather and Lace themed show that was filled with seventies folk rock looks that might have come right out of Stevie Nick’s closet.  Creative director Clare Waight Keller uses the Chloé platform as a springboard for her casual cool girl chic, upping the luxe factor for the girl with a few extra dimes to spend.  Rich leather ensembles referenced biker looks but with a sophisticated polish.  Soft shearling toppers and knits had a relaxed elegance.  Flowing chiffon dresses and tunics with ruffles and bows showed a feminine flair with a flower-child charm.  Make room in your closets girls!

This is a girl’s dream RTW collection come true. Carven’s design duo Adrien Caillaudaud and Alexis Martial have created a full line of chic daywear separates to go anywhere with ease. Super cool tops that are figure-flattering and functional coordinated with either flat front pixie pants or techno leather cropped pants. Textured knits added dimension to cardigan coats and jackets.   A handful of mini skirts and dresses appealed to the girl who likes to show a little leg. A unique shearling trim on collars and waistlines added just the right touch of luxury.  Their shearling coat and jacket are destined to become classics.

You can’t help but admire the fastidiousness with which Manish Arora creates his intricate and eye-popping designs. His fall 2016 presentation had a lot going on but somehow your eye was able to capture and enjoy all the mayhem. Patterns upon beading, accented with furs or feathers, each piece was a festive occasion of fashion at its finest. The overall theme was a playful take on Cowboys and Indians with belted fur vests, fur-trimmed cowboy boots, western medallions, denim, and tribal prints. One or two pieces from this collection is all you need to make a statement and for us the pick would be the belted shearling vest. It was a unique collection but one that will appeal to a certain woman with a sense of ceremonial occasion.

You can really appreciate the fine art of tailoring when you look closely at the Ann Demeulemeester fall RTW collection for 2016. Her ability to cut and drape fabrics is nothing short of genius. Body shaping while still looking relaxed, her menswear mood played out through three piece suits. Your choices include cropped pants, breakaway pants, and floor length skirts, but only in black. She pairs midnight navy to add subtle contrast which helps define the details. A few Lurex metallic pieces added just the right amount of shine to a very sedate presentation. The metallic leather shearlings are must-have coats for the season.
